Amazon seller marketing that starts with demand.
Most sellers arrive asking how to get more reviews. Nine times out of ten the listing has a demand problem instead — nobody is looking at it, so there is nothing for a review to convert. Start by working out which problem you actually have.
How do I market my Amazon products in India?
Four levers do the work: Sponsored ads to buy impressions on Amazon, listing quality to convert the traffic you already get, off-Amazon traffic so buyers arrive already convinced, and creator content that reaches people before they open Amazon at all. Diagnose in that order — most stalled listings are short of demand, not short of reviews.
Work out which problem you have
These four look identical from the seller dashboard — flat sales — and every one of them needs a different fix. Only the third is even partly about reviews.
Nobody is seeing the listing
If impressions are low, nothing downstream matters. A listing with no traffic cannot convert, cannot accumulate reviews, and cannot tell you whether the product is any good. This is a demand problem wearing a review problem’s clothes.
People see it and do not buy
Traffic without orders is a listing problem — images, title, A+ content, price against the comparison set, or a variation structure that confuses the buyer. Reviews are one input here, but rarely the only broken one.
People buy and say nothing
Most buyers never leave a review. That is normal, and it is not something you are allowed to fix by paying for reviews. What you can do is increase the number of genuine orders, which is the only legitimate way the base grows.
Nobody outside Amazon knows you exist
If a buyer has never encountered your brand anywhere else, your listing has to do all the persuading alone against sellers who are already familiar. That gap is closed off Amazon, not on it.
What you can actually pull
There are only four, and none of them is “get reviews”. Reviews are an output of selling well, not an input you buy.
Sponsored ads
The fastest way to buy impressions on the marketplace itself. It works, it is auction-priced, and it stops the moment you stop paying. Useful for testing whether a listing converts at all before you spend elsewhere.
Listing quality
Titles, bullets, image sequence, A+ content and backend terms. The cheapest lever you have, because it is your own work rather than a media spend, and it compounds with every other lever on this list.
Off-Amazon traffic
Buyers who arrive already knowing what they want convert differently from buyers browsing a category. Getting them means being present where they actually spend time — which for most Indian consumer categories is Instagram and YouTube.
Creator content
Content on a creator’s own channel does two jobs at once: it reaches people who are not on Amazon yet, and it produces footage you can re-cut for your own ads and product pages. This is where Hypedrive sits.
One lever, run properly
Hypedrive covers the fourth lever only. Four steps, and the money moves at the last one — after you have seen the content and said yes.
- Step 1
You fund a campaign
Pick the product, set the cashback, the bonus and the content brief. The money sits in a funded campaign wallet until you approve work — nothing is drawn down before that.
- Step 2
A creator buys it at full price
The creator orders from your Amazon listing with their own money, at your normal price. It is a genuine order in your genuine sales data, not a seeded free unit.
- Step 3
They post on their own channel
The content goes up on the creator’s own Instagram or YouTube, disclosed as a paid collaboration as ASCI guidelines require. It is their post, their audience, their account.
- Step 4
You approve, then it pays out
You review the post against the brief you wrote. Approve it and the creator gets their cashback plus bonus. No approval, no payout — and approval is about the brief, never about the verdict.
Creators reach buyers across 650+ Indian cities and towns, payouts run over UPI, and brand-side billing is GST-ready. The platform fee is 5–20% on top of the cashback and bonus you set yourself. There is no retainer and no minimum monthly spend.
What the rulebooks actually say
Three separate sets of rules apply to an Indian seller running this kind of marketing, and they are worth reading at the source rather than second-hand.
Amazon Community Guidelines prohibit compensating anyone for a review, in cash, free product, discounts or anything else of value. That covers the obvious cases and the creative ones. It is Amazon's own policy and enforcement is Amazon's to apply.
But the same page also states, in Amazon's own words, exactly what a seller is free to do — which matters more here than the prohibition does, because this page is about the levers you actually have:
“✓ ACCEPTABLE Post a product review, if a seller encourages you to leave unbiased, un-incentivized review. Example message from seller 'Please share your honest experience with our product by leaving a review!'”
That is the whole permitted lever, and it is not a small one. Ask, plainly, without a sweetener, using the mechanisms Amazon gives you — then put your budget into the thing that actually grows the number of people who could leave a review in the first place. Amazon is also explicit that the party with a stake in the product cannot be the one writing about it on the listing:
“We don't allow reviews written as a form of promotion. For example, we remove reviews posted by someone with a direct or indirect financial interest in the product, or any other conflict of interest.”
ASCI guidelines for influencer advertising require an upfront, prominent disclosure on every piece of paid promotional content, whether the payment is cash, free product, affiliate commission or equity. A reimbursed purchase plus a bonus is a material connection, so it must be disclosed. Follower counts are never mentioned in the guidelines — the trigger is the material connection, not audience size.
BIS IS 19000:2022 is India's standard for online consumer reviews, covering how review platforms should collect, moderate and publish reviews. Compliance with it is voluntary. The CCPA dark patterns guidelines 2023 list thirteen deceptive practices, including false urgency and fake reviews or endorsements presented as independent. Both point the same way: a paid endorsement must look like one.
The longer version of all three is on Amazon's review policy for Indian sellers and whether paid reviews are legal in India.
What this is not
Being specific about the boundary is the whole point, so here it is without hedging.
Hypedrive is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated in partnership with Amazon, Flipkart or any other marketplace. Marketplace names appear here only to describe what sellers are searching for and which rulebooks apply to them.
Hypedrive does not sell, arrange, script, incentivise or broker marketplace reviews or ratings. A creator on a Hypedrive campaign is never asked to post a review on a listing, and payout is never tied to a review existing, to a rating, or to saying anything positive. You approve whether the brief was met — never whether the verdict was flattering.
What Hypedrive does is narrower: a real person buys your product with their own money at full price, publishes disclosed content about it on their own Instagram or YouTube account, and is reimbursed plus a bonus only after you approve that content. If you want the mechanics in full, read how brand campaigns work on Hypedrive.
Questions, answered
Four levers do the work: Sponsored ads to buy impressions on Amazon, listing quality to convert the traffic you already get, off-Amazon traffic so buyers arrive already convinced, and creator content that reaches people before they ever open Amazon. Most stalled listings are short of demand, not short of reviews.
Usually not on its own. If impressions are low, extra reviews have nothing to convert. Diagnose in order — impressions, then click-through, then conversion — and fix whichever is actually broken. And reviews are not something you may buy in any case: paying for them breaches Amazon’s Community Guidelines.
No. Hypedrive does not sell, arrange, script, incentivise or broker reviews or ratings, and no payout is ever tied to a review existing or being positive. What it produces is a genuine order through your listing and disclosed creator content on Instagram or YouTube that you approved.
Sponsored ads buy impressions inside Amazon and stop when the budget stops. A creator campaign puts your product in front of an audience off Amazon and leaves you with content and a real order behind it. They solve different halves of the same problem and most sellers need both.
You set the cashback and the bonus per campaign, so the product price and the reward are yours to decide. Hypedrive charges a platform fee of 5–20% on top. There is no retainer, no minimum monthly spend and no charge for work you did not approve.
Yes, on the reuse terms you state in the campaign brief before anyone enrols. Approved content can be re-cut for Meta and Google ads, product pages or retail decks if the brief says so — which is why the usage terms are worth writing deliberately rather than leaving implied.
